22 Days of Giving Thanks: Days 14 & 15 and 2012 Christmas Ornament Swap

This week is just flying by and I can't believe Thanksgiving is a week from today! I hope everyone is having a great week so far. I'm really looking forward to this weekend. I'm still in Oklahoma visiting my family and we are having another baby shower for my sister with our Oklahoma family. I'm excited to share all of that with you after the shower on Saturday.

I'm also excited to share with you something I'm new to this year and I'm helping spread the word about. It's the 2012 Christmas Ornament Swap hosted by Alisha of  Alisha & Brandon, Meg of Henning Love and Ashley of Piloting Life. Not only will you have the chance to meet new bloggers but you can also receive a beautiful, new ornament for your Christmas tree. Official sign up is November 26. Visit these ladies and help me, help them spread the word!

Okay now for Days 14 & 15 of 22 Days of Giving Thanks

Day 14:

This may seem trivial to some, but today I am thankful for the opportunity to ride again. I hadn't been on my horse in over a year and being back home for a bit I thought I'd take this chance and saddle up. Another one of my passions is riding horses. There is nothing like it-it's just me, one of God's most beautiful creatures and nature. It's such a peaceful time for me and I can't imagine my life without it. I was so thankful for this time I had to do something I absolutely love.

Day 15:

This kind of goes along with being thankful for the opportunity to ride my horse, but today I'm thankful for the little things. You know, those things that we really don't stop and think about but if they were gone we would be lost. I became aware of the little things I missed when I moved to Wyoming. I noticed it didn't rain much, the trees where sparse and early in the mornings I didn't hear the birds singing. I never knew how much I loved these things until I didn't have them. In fact, one morning I woke up early and heard something outside that I hadn't heard in a long time. It was rain! I couldn't believe it-at 5:30 in the morning I was so exciting to hear rain pounding on the roof! I encourage you today to stop and think about the little things and praise God for them. The little things are what makes life so wonderful!

  2. You are AWESOME!! Thanks Rachel for helping us spread the word. Congrats to your sister on the baby!

I've always had a fascination with horses too. Gosh, it's been so long since I've ridden one though. And the little things in life really do make it so wonderful. :)

  3. You're right Rachel, the little things are what makes life wonderful. Something like pounding rain may not seem like the most likely thing to be thankful for, but those are the things I love too. (:

Glad to have you as an ornament swapper!
