22 Days of Giving Thanks: Days 16 thru 19

Day 16:
I know I mentioned earlier in the month that I was so thankful for my parents. Well tonight as I waited to hear from Matt while he traveled, my mom stayed up with me and we got to spend some quiet time with each other-well maybe not so much quiet, but it was definitely fun. It’s been so busy since being back home that’s it’s hard to really sit down and talk without any interruptions. But tonight we got to do just that. My mom has always been my most favorite person to talk to. She’s a great listener and we’re both kind of goofy together so there are always a lot of laughs. I loved every minute of it and I’m always thankful for those times with her.

Day 17:
On November 6th my daddy had a much needed surgery on his neck. He has spent years in terrible pain and over the past couple of months his pain had only gotten worse and he was becoming weaker. The pain was so severe, that in a way it had changed him. We wanted nothing but for him be released from this agony and back to the person we knew. We all knew he needed surgery, but without insurance that’s nearly impossible to do.  We prayed for a miracle and soon God blessed them with insurance and a doctor that wanted to get him into surgery as soon as possible. Within a couple of weeks of the insurance approval he was scheduled for surgery. After his surgery he was a completely different person, well, we had our old daddy back. His pain is completely gone, he’s regaining his strength and ready once again to be doing all things he loves. I’m so thankful for God’s grace-my daddy is well!!

Day 18:
Today is an exciting day! After 3 weeks of being apart, I get to see my husband! I have loved being back home and spending time with my family, but I have MISSED my husband!! I’m thankful this day is finally here.

Day 19:
Today my husband and I have been back in Texas helping my sister and brother-in-law get their new home put together while they are at work. I’m thankful (and I know she is too) that we were here to help them. I’m so excited for them to see what we’ve done today.
